A Five-Piece Batman: Sep 14–20, 2026

The only new LEGO item out between 14 and 20 September 2026 was a five-piece Batman polybag. Plus the Winter Village reveal and what lands next.

The newest LEGO item you could get your hands on this week has five pieces, and you could not buy it at all.

30762 Retro Video Game Batman arrived on Friday 18 September, not as a retail set but as a purchase bonus: it comes with the physical Deluxe Edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Nintendo Switch 2, which launched the same day. (The PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions had been out since 22 May.)

What makes it worth mentioning despite the piece count is the minifigure inside: an exclusive purple-suited Batman. That is a deep reference. It points at Batman: The Video Game, the 1990 NES tie-in to Tim Burton's 1989 film, where the sprite's colour palette rendered the cape and suit purple. The same polybag was handed out at Gamescom in Cologne from 26 to 30 August, which is how photographs of it leaked ahead of the release.

One clarification, since a retailer listing muddied this: a store advertised the bag as a 7 September pre-order, which was that store's own pre-order date. The LEGO release date is the 18th, which Brickset and the LEGO news outlets agree on.

Timeline showing that only the five-piece Retro Video Game Batman polybag was available in the week of 14 September 2026, while the Holiday House and Pokemon sets were announced for October
A busy news week and an empty shopping week are not the same thing.

The Winter Village set for 2026 was revealed on the 15th

11387 Holiday House was announced on Tuesday 15 September: 1,354 pieces at US$119.99 / £99.99 / €109.99, with four minifigures and a horse. It has a wrap-around porch dressed with garlands, golden bells and holly, a one-horse open sleigh, an illuminated Christmas tree, and a Jingle Bells theme running through the details.

It is not out. LEGO Insiders get it on 1 October and general release follows on the 4th. This is the reveal-versus-release distinction that trips up so many September roundups — the set was all over the LEGO press this week and could not be bought at any point in it.

What lands next

The week after this one is busier than this one was:

  • 40900 Scary Haunted Tree, a 218-piece gift with purchase on a US$100 / £90 spend, running 21–30 September. It has a light brick in the mouth, glow-in-the-dark white eyes, movable arms, and comes with a pumpkin and a crow. A natural companion to Mayor Manor from the start of the month.
  • 1 October brings the Holiday House for Insiders plus the first LEGO Pokémon Trainer minifigures, in 72154 Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball — 2,386 pieces at US$299.99 — alongside 40868 Up-Scaled Red. Several September roundups mentioned Pokémon minifigures in their September copy; the sets are October.

Looking back at the month

Four weeks, and the distribution was lopsided in a way that is worth internalising if you are planning purchases. Two of those weeks had no new sets at all. One had two. One had seventeen.

That is not LEGO being erratic — it is the monthly wave calendar, and it repeats. If you want the short version: watch the 1st of the month for sets, watch mid-month for gifts with purchase, and treat every exciting reveal as a date three to six weeks out rather than an invitation to go shopping today.

How we dated this week. Release dates, piece counts and prices here come from LEGO's own announcements and from Brick Fanatics, Jay's Brick Blog, StoneWars, Toys N Bricks and Brickset, cross-checked between outlets where the date matters. Regional availability and promotion windows change without notice, so treat the dates as the week they were reported rather than a guarantee for your store.
